Massage

Watercolour of a practitioner leaning over a woman lying face down, pressing both hands into the muscle beside her spine.

We offer two styles of Chinese massage: tui na and acupressure.

In Chinese medicine, both work through the body’s channels, the same pathways acupuncture uses. Tui na works the muscles, tendons and joints over a broad area, while acupressure presses on individual points, the same ones we would needle.

What we use it for

Stiff necks

Shoulders that have set hard

Frozen shoulder

Where the joint work matters most

Low back & hip

Tightness that runs into the glute

Old strains

Injuries that healed short

Choosing between them

Tui na

Pressing, kneading, rolling and stretching across the back, neck and hips. Best for tight muscle and stiff joints.

Acupressure

Firm finger and thumb pressure held on acupuncture points, with no needles. A good fit if you’d rather not be needled.

We also offer foot reflexology

A separate treatment from tui na and acupressure, with slow, steady pressure worked across the soles of the feet. A calmer option, and welcome after a long day on your feet.

We ease off whenever you say, and most visits pair massage with needling.
